ABOUT
GARY
Gary Deckman was the runner up on NBC's "The Biggest Loser" reality show -- but to millions of Americans he is number one.
With his Brooklyn accent, his sense of humor and his love of his family, Gary touched many people deeply and apparently a great many Americans have been inspired to start losing weight.
Gary lost seventy-one pounds in one hundred and fifty five days, of course, all under rigorous supervision.
His sensitivity towards his fellow contestants and his great sense of humor endeared him to both his fellow contestants and the audience.
Gary, who was born and brought up in Brooklyn, now makes his home in Los Angeles. He started his working career as a life guard working in several of Manhattan's toniest health clubs. He then became a salesman at several electronic chains including that once famous "Crazy
Eddie's", in New York, quickly becoming a manager. In 1991 he and his wife, Mary, decided to head west, where he went to work for his brother as a wholesale electronics commodities salesman.
One of the most gratifying results of "The Biggest Loser" is when people who recognize him say, "You've inspired me to start losing weight." A number of people have even told him that he has changed their lives forever.
Women who watched "The Biggest Loser" adore him, while men feel he's real cool.
Gary is a great conversationalist, is charming and has a wonderful sense of humor. He has been married to his wife Mary for twenty-three years. They have two children.
Gary can be seen in a national advertising campaign with 24Hour Fitness which is a nationwide chain of fitness and sports centers.
Gary can be seen as a guest host on NBC hit reality show The Biggest Losers Family Edition.
Gary has spoken at The Occupational Therapy Dept on weight loss at USC.
